Position Description
Named by the Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last three years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization is now offering a New Graduate Nurse Resident designed to orient newly licensed nurses to the rewarding role of Hospice Nurse Care Coordinator. The New Graduate Nurse Resident will build confidence and skill through various learning modalities, guided experiences and extended preceptorships. Travel is required for this position. Care is provided in patient’s private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest.
Job Responsibilities
The Nurse Resident will attend didactic classroom sessions and other unique learning experiences to gain an understanding of hospice nursing care, including appropriate documentation, the admission process, clinical progress notes, recertification procedures, and various disposition documentation. Under the guidance and supervision of an NCC preceptor and TTP educators, the Nurse Resident will learn to provide, coordinate, and document initial and ongoing clinical assessments of the impact of the terminal diagnosis on the patient’s physical, functional, psychosocial, and environmental needs and activities of daily living from the referral through bereavement phase.
Schedule And Weekly Hours
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. 40-hour position.

Education, Skills And Experience
- Graduate of an accredited BSN or associates in nursing program
- Successful completion of NCLEX exam
- Strong interest in Hospice
