Registered Nurse – Wound Care Specialist

Position Overview

Mt. Auburn Hospital is seeking a Wound Care RN Specialist to join its Center for Clinical & Professional Development. This is a weekday-only travel contract with no weekend or on-call requirements. Local candidates within 50 miles and those who have worked at any Beth Israel facility in the past 6 months will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care from consult to discharge, including pre-authorizations
• Receive and manage wound care consults and scheduling
• Perform patient evaluations and assist with diagnostic orders
• Educate patients and families in collaboration with physicians and surgeons
• Develop educational materials and participate in rounds and case conferences
• Lead process improvement initiatives and pressure injury prevalence surveys
• Serve as liaison to the Department of Quality & Safety for wound-related events
• Maintain clinical competencies and mandatory education requirements
• Uphold professional standards aligned with Mt. Auburn Hospital’s mission
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be active at time of submission)
• 1–3 years of relevant wound care experience
• COVID-19 vaccination + booster (declinations not accepted)
• Experience with web-based applications and Microsoft Office
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• EPIC charting proficiency
• Prior experience in wound care specialty
